Christina Michelle Richards
Artistic & Creative Director
Christina Michelle spent most of her professional career in Musical Theatre. As a triple threat performer her stage performance career has been vast and being originally classically trained, her vocal versatility has resulted in a privileged stage career that is varied and experienced. Trained in ISTD Tap, Ballet and Modern, Christina also works as a Choreographer and Director.
Christina is an Associate Teacher of LAMDA and has taught voice and drama privately for many years to children and adults as well as being in high demand as a workshop leader for schools, theatre companies, corporations and theatre schools. She is also a fully qualified Secondary Drama teacher and works as an Examiner in Drama and Performing Arts for the Welsh Joint Education Committee (WJEC) at GCSE and A Level. Christina developed, co- wrote and consulted on their GCSE in Performing Arts that is offered and studied in schools Nationwide. She works extensively as a freelance Performing Arts Consultant, designing and writing projects, schemes and resources and consulting as a subject matter expert.
The Performance Centres started off as just The Stage Centre which was born out of Christina’s love for her profession, she was still working professionally in London at the time, coupled with her educational expertise. On relocating back to Wales, The Dance Centre came next and then the umbrella of Performance was created for the Centres. Her two greatest loves combined, results in a Theatre and Dance School that believes heavily in training through performance and developing the all-round individual as well as the triple threat performer.
Craig Yates - Musical Director & Head of Music and Voice (STAGE). . .
Born in Birmingham, Craig demonstrated early promise as a singer being named Midland Choirboy of the Year 1992-93. He continued his studies at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, where he achieved a BA (Hons) in music and a Post Graduate Diploma in singing with distinction. When he completed college, he continued his training at the world-renowned Mariinsky Academy for Young Singers in St. Petersburg, Russia. After returning from Russia, he was offered his first work with Welsh National Opera and has gone to on to perform in numerous roles with them.
Craig is a long-standing member of the well known Welsh vocal group, Only Men Aloud, with whom he has had great performance and recording success over the past few years. He also works for The Aloud Charity and Only Boys Aloud - leading them in rehearsals and performances.
Craig is delighted to be appointed Musical Director here at the Centre.
Natalie Morgan - Head of Drama and Director (STAGE). . .
Natalie graduated with 1st class honours from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. At just 12 years of age ,she originated the role of Mary Lennox in the RSC production of ‘The Secret Garden’ ( Adrian Noble, Gillian Lynne, Stephen Brooker) which later transferred to the Aldwych Theatre in London's West End. She remained with the company for the entire run of the production and she can be heard playing ‘Mary Lennox’ on the original cast recording of ‘The Secret Garden’.
As a solo artist Natalie has sung for the Royal Family at Buckingham Palace, Cadogan Hall (official launch of the new Jaguar Vehicle) , NASUWT conference for the Prime Minister and was honoured to sing with Katherine Jenkins at the National VE Day Celebrations in Bute Park. She also sang at the New Years Eve celebrations at Cardiff's City Hall at the turn of the new Millennium.
Natalie has vast experience as a Drama Coach, working with all age ranges, teaching, directing and in LAMDA coaching. Now settled back in Wales, she is delighted to be heading up Drama here at The Stage Centre
Emma Greene - Head of Dance (Tap & Modern) and After School Club Co-Ordinator (STAGE & DANCE). . .
Emma has been dancing since the age of 9. She is trained in modern, tap, jazz, street/commercial, musical theatre, contemporary and cheerleading. Originally from Cardiff, after leaving school she went to the University of Wolverhampton to study Dance for three years and graduated with a BA Hons in Dance Practice and Performance. She also has Advanced 1 in ISTD Tap and Modern and currently has her ISTD DDI teacher qualification which allows her to enter students for exams in Tap and Modern. Emma is now working towards her DDE teacher qualification. Emma has performed in numerous musicals in Cardiff including - Grease, Beauty and the Beast, White Christmas, The Producers and A Chorus Line.
Her choreography for The Stage Centre includes - We Will Rock You, Grease, Famous The Revue, Les Miserables, Honk Jr, Annie and Little Shop of Horrors
Emma has been teaching for The Performance Centres since 2008. She is extremely proud to be working with The Performance Centres as they create an exceptional, professional, educational and fun environment for children of all ages to learn and develop their skills, whatever their capabilities. It’s extremely rewarding to see how many children have grown as part of their Performance Centre experience.
Sian Pond - Contemporary, Ballet, Tap and Modern (STAGE & DANCE). . .
Originally from Norwich, Norfolk, Sian began dancing at Central School of Dancing, Norwich and graduated from London Studio Centre Dance College in 2011 with BA (Hons) in Theatre Dance.
Since graduating Sian has credits for TV, Film and Stage. Acting credits include: Endeavour (ITV Drama Session 2) - Beauty Pageant Winner and The Alan Partridge Movie Alpha Papa as Dancer and Waitress
Dancing credits include: Dancer Katy Perry 'Unconditionally' Music Video. Performances by Ronan Keating and The Overtones on ITV's Red or Black, James Morrison Music Video 'Slave to the Music', Tinie Tempah O2 Advert, Coca Cola Corporate Event at Olympic Velodrome. Dance Captain for four Christmas seasons at Cromer Christmas Show in Norfolk. In 2013 I joined a celebrity cast to perform 42nd Street Charity Gala at the London Palladium in aid of the Caron Keating Foundation.
Sian is now settled in Wales and delighted to be teaching at The Performance Centres.
Francesca Williams - Head of Ballet and Adult Fitness Instructor (DANCE). . .
Francesca Williams began dancing when she was just 3 years old. She attended classes in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Modern and musical theatre for over 15 years in the Vale of Glamorgan area. During this time she completed her examinations in ISTD modern and RAD ballet, as well as performing on stage every opportunity she got. She graduated from the University of Surrey and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Dance. During her time here, she taught dance to pupils of all ages and abilities including a disability group called Stop Gap. She has experience teaching in a variety of school settings from nursery up to sixthform as part of the 5x60 scheme. Francesca is very passionate about teaching dance and loves inspiring children to move in the studio, which led her to The Dance Centre in 2014. She became the Head of Ballet at the studio while studying for her Diploma in dance instruction in ISTD ballet. Also a certified fitness instructor and First Aider, Francesca has experience teaching a wide variety of formats to students of all ages. She is very excited to be a part of The Dance Centre’s bespoke Musical Theatre Fitness programme which launched over a year ago. Francesca loves being part of The Dance Centre team and is particularly looking forward to their annual show, where the children get to perform all their hard work on stage.
Chloe Cooke - Early Years Junior Tutor (STAGE). . .
Chloe joined The Stage Centre as Junior Tutor in 2015.
Her Performing Arts background, predominantly as a musician, shapes the exciting and engaging introductory sessions she teaches at the Centre, aimed at 3-7 year olds. Chloe is a professional and experienced singer/songwriter and has worked in the music industry for more than fifteen years. Following the completion of her music degree in 2012, she has been passionately encouraging creativity in others.
Laura Singleton - Early Years Junior Asst. Tutor (STAGE). . .
Laura started her training here at the Stage Centre from 2009-2013. Working closely with Our Creative Director she is now currently training in a BA Hons in Acting at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
Laura achieved Distinctions in all LAMDA and Musical Theatre Performance Arts Awards exams under her training at the Stage Centre. When she moved on to further her training and start her professional journey, it seemed very natural for her to become part of the team. Her professional credits currently are in both TV and Stage and she adores teaching our early years classes.
Natalie Rolley - Head of Administration and Pastoral Care. . .
Natalie has been working in the entertainment industry for well over 25 years.
She has worked with The Stage Centre for the past 7 years as Head of Administration and Pastoral Care of the young performers. She takes great pleasure in being able to work as part of such a vibrant and enthusiastic team and is delighted to work with such talented children watching them develop into such mature young people, many of whom are following career paths into the industry.
She has been involved in Theatre and performance as part of the Production teams for many different companies all over the UK working in Professional Theatres and Open air Venues with teams producing ‘Tickledom’ and ‘Only The Brave’. She has worked with children in entertainment for many years, responsible for arranging the licencing and chaperoning of young people under the age of 16, working closely with the Local Education Authorities throughout Wales, also acting as chaperone for UK touring companies ensuring the safety of children during their performances.
Natalie is also Principal Agent for Casting Cymru an agency for children in entertainment having secured work in TV and touring theatre for many of their clients. In her spare time Natalie works as a freelance photographer taking photographs all over Wales of diverse subjects but mainly theatrical and performance photography.
She considers it a privilege to work in an industry that provides so much pleasure to many and to be part of a growing and professional team.
