Acting
Students of The Stage Centre benefit from a truly unique
experience. We aim to take the student on a journey from the page to
the professional performer.
 |
Here Drama is proudly taught in a refreshing, individual and
fun
way. The intention is to develop the students confidence, interaction
and awareness of drama in the formative years and to push the
boundaries of performance in the older students. |
As the students progress through the age structure, we open their
eyes to the many forms of theatre. Intermediates, Pre-Senior and Senior
Students will learn and begin to challenge current concepts through the
exploration and understanding of various performance styles. They will
have opportunity to enhance these skills through further work with
different guest tutors
The Advanced group have the choice to study for a GCSE qualification
in Performing Arts and Drama is one of the skills they can be examined
in.
We believe that the skills taught and learnt in Drama prepare a
young person for life
...all the world's a stage!

Singing
Singing at The Stage Centre is taught in an interesting, exciting
and educational way.
We aim to create singers not merely students that can sing.
| Singing follows a syllabus written by Christina Michelle
Richards
that is age-specific in repertoire and in the technical knowledge given
to the student year by year. Students record this repertoire on
worksheets that are provided for them in their study folder. |
 |
Our approach is pupil-centered and we encourage all students to play
to their strengths. The emphasis in singing lessons lies with giving
students the technical knowledge and skills needed to enable them to
build, learn and perform an individual repertoire that can be used in
audition and has its foundation in the pupil's natural talent.
They are therefore treated to many different styles of music and
given the chance to work in many different ways to discover where this
natural talent lies.
Dancing
At The Stage Centre the emphasis in Dance is placed on
the importance of performance within dance, choreography and the
flexibility in the student to pick up any routine in a range of
different styles.
 |
Classes are structured to develop and strengthen a students
physicality as well as their natural potential and presentation skills.
Students improve posture and core control through experiencing a wide
variety of styles and techniques from Jazz to Tap to Ballet to Physical
theatre to Street. |
Dance follows a syllabus written by Christina Michelle

which draws on ISTD specifications and is age-specific to the students
year by year.
All students are encouraged to play to their natural technical
strengths whether they consider themselves a 'dancer' or not.
